Michael Lackman is an accomplished project management consultant whose experience has spanned corporations from start-up to Fortune 100.  Michael's passion for excellence and success in project management is evident in his collaborative manner with clients and co-workers to quickly build rapport and foster an open and productive relationship.  During his more than 30 years of technology development experience, including 16 years as a project manager, he has gained insights and experience in the essential principals of project management, technology development, team building and motivation, and project communications with stakeholders, clients and customers, team members, and senior executives.

Michael founded, built and managed StrategicPM to enable businesses of all sizes to closely align their development projects with company goals and vision to achieve real project success.

Prior to that, As VP of Engineering at Telegroup, Inc., Michael built an engineering, software development and operations department from inception to more than 162 engineers, software developers and support personnel in five locations worldwide providing service to customers in 170 countries. As a contributing member of the executive management team at Telegroup, Michael helped provide the technical and business leadership to grow from a small $68.7M privately held callback company into a $330M facilities-based, publicly traded, international telecom corporation. The company was on the INC 500 list of the fastest growing U.S. private companies for two years prior to becoming a public company.

Michael became a formal project manager at MCI where he project managed large, multi-location, multi-company telecom infrastructure projects for MCI's Global Alliance partnering with Stentor in Canada and British Telecom in the UK.

Michael has experience designing and developing financial decision support systems for international loan officers at Bankers Trust, providing systems administration and research support to groundbreaking VLSI design projects at the California Institute of Technology for Dr. Carver Mead and reporting directly to interactive graphics pioneer Dr. Ivan Sutherland, and working as a software development manager for companies such as Digital Equipment Corporation, Computer Associates, Interactive Systems Inc, Teledyne Systems, and Hughes Radar Systems.

He earned his undergraduate degree in Computer Science from the University of Oregon in 1974.  He first joined the Project Management Institute (PMI) in 1987 while consulting on large aerospace projects in Southern California.  Michael is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
